The Slovak Film Commission heads to the Cannes Film Festival, with Slovakia also scoring a nomination at the Global Production Awards 2026.
Slovak Film Commission will once again take part in the Marché du Film in Cannes, where it will actively promote Slovakia as an attractive destination for audiovisual production and foster new international partnerships.
From May 13 to 20, you can find us at the Czech & Slovak Pavilion (No. 139) within the Village International. Film Commissioner Zuzana Bieliková will be available throughout the festival for in-person meetings with international producers, filmmakers, and partners interested in shooting in Slovakia or exploring co-production opportunities. Slovakia offers a 33% cash rebate, experienced crews, and a wide variety of diverse locations suitable for a broad range of projects.

This year’s participation is particularly significant for Slovakia, as the Slovak Film Commission has been shortlisted in the Emerging Location category at the Global Production Awards 2026. The awards ceremony will take place on May 18 during the Cannes Film Festival.
This nomination represents important international recognition and confirms Slovakia’s growing reputation as a promising filming destination. It also highlights that systematic support for the audiovisual sector, combined with active international promotion, is delivering tangible results.
We look forward to meeting you in Cannes and to building new collaborations that will contribute to the continued development of Slovakia’s audiovisual industry.
