On 15 February 2026, a panel discussion: Brehm & v. Moers and Slovak Film Commission @ Berlinale 2026 took place in Berlin.

The event focusing on Slovakia as a service spot for foreign productions, with particular emphasis on German projects. The discussion highlighted financial incentives, production infrastructure, and practical experiences from recent collaborations. The discussion was moderated by Katharina Domnick, Partner at Brehm & v. Moers and it featured Zuzana Bieliková (SFC), Udo Happel (Executive Producer, Studio Zentral), Fabian Glubrecht and Rastislav Kuril (co-founders and producers, Film Slovakia, s. r. o.).

As part of Berlinale 2026 Slovak Film Commission hosted a reception together with Brehm & v. Moers.
Against the backdrop of two recent German productions – “????????????????????????????????????????????” (TV-series, Studio Zentral) and “????????????????’???? ????????????????” (feature film, ????????????????????????-???????????????????????? ????????????????) – both of which chose Slovakia as their primary production location in 2025, the panel explored the current production conditions and financing opportunities in Slovakia.

Under the moderation of our BvM partner Katharina Domnick, we discussed Slovakia’s highly competitive cash rebate system and many practical considerations for German productions when shooting abroad.

The Slovak incentive scheme provides for:
????????% ???????????????? ???????????????????????? on eligible Slovakia-based production costs (incl. fees paid to foreign cast members taxed in Slovakia)
???????????????????????????????????????? ????????% ???????????????????????? on fees to foreign cast and crew working in Slovakia

We thank Zuzana Bielikova (Slovak Film Commission), Udo Happel, Fabian Glubrecht and Rasto Kuril for the insightful panel discussion. Fotografiska Berlin at Tacheles provided a fantastic venue for the event.

We would also like to thank our dear guests who joined us for the panel discussion and the subsequent get-together including representatives from production companies, streaming services, associations, and other film industry stakeholders.
