Filming of Hohenfelden Begins in Bratislava
Filming of a new series titled “Hohenfelden” from ZDF (Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen) has begun in Bratislava. The series, set in the world of equestrian sports, is based on a script by Juli Zeh, marking her debut as a television writer and creative producer.
Production is being handled by Load Studios and Studio Zentral.
Filming is taking place on location and is expected to continue until the end of October.
Juli Zeh is among the most renowned German writers. In addition to bestsellers such as Unterleuten, Über Menschen, and Corpus Delicti, her works have often served as the basis for film and television adaptations.
The creators describe Hohenfelden as a “radical counterpoint to the romanticized image typically portrayed in ordinary equestrian-themed series and films.” According to them, the series will depict “stubbornly, brutally, maturely, and uncompromisingly” the psychological and economic pressures faced by people who have found their true calling in equestrian sports.
The scripts were prepared by Juli Zeh in collaboration with Lukas Becker, and she also oversaw the production as a creative producer. The original idea for the series came from producer Georg Ramme. His studio team, Load Studios, has several well-known projects to its name.
In addition to Ramme, producers include Lucas Schmidt and Lasse Scharpen, with Hannes Höhn serving as executive producer.
Under the direction of Christian Zübert, Lili Epply stars in the lead role as Ina Hansen.
