Markušovce

The manor house in Markušovce was originally built as a fortress in the middle of the 17th century. The original appearance of the Renaissance fortress with round towers on the corners was changed in 1773 by a major reconstruction in the Rococo style. Wolfgang Máriássy built, on the occasion of the expected arrival of Emperor Joseph II., the summer house "Dardanely" situated in the garden. The representation hall of the summer palace decorated with impressive frescoes serves as a concert hall.
