Svätý Jur

The church of St. George is one of the most important cultural and historical landmarks in Svätý Jur. The Gothic Roman Catholic parish Church of St. George was originally constructed as an early-Gothic church from the 13th century, which was later added on to and enlarged. The interior of the church is dominated by an early-Renaissance stone altar, unique to Slovakia, in the middle of which stands a statue of St. George.
