Orava

Orava is a region situated in northern Slovakia, on the border with Poland. The region offers beautiful mountain ranges such as Malá Fatra, Chočské vrchy and above all Západné Tatry. 

Orava Castle is the major landmark in the region. There are also many examples of old traditional folk architecture which can be found in the villages of Orava, with an open-Air Museum in Zuberec. The area is also known for wooden churches in Tvrdošín, Leštiny and Istebné.
