Nitra

Nitra is a city in western Slovakia, situated at the foot of Zobor Mountain in the valley of the river Nitra. It is the fifth largest city and one of the oldest cities in Slovakia. The buildings in the historic centre are parts of the Town Monument Reserve. The dominant of the town is the Castle of Nitra with the Cathedral of St. Emeram. Other interesting monuments are the Monastery of St. Peter and Paul with the church, the Piarist monastery and the Nitra synagogue.
