Krásna Hôrka
The castle, which was built to protect the medieval road that led through the mining areas of the Slovak Ore Mountains, has a rich history. Krásna Hôrka is one of several monuments in Slovakia that did not succumb to war and post-war looting. The basis of the castle's collection fund consists mainly of weapons.
In 2012, a fire broke out in the castle, which destroyed mostly the roof and the interior of the castle. The castle is undergoing reconstruction, which should be completed by 2023.
