Banská Štiavnica

Banská Štiavnica is a town in central Slovakia with a significant multicultural past. It is a completely preserved medieval town. It is known for the mining of metals (especially silver), important mining legislation, self-government and an academic tradition. Thanks to its historical value, the town and its surroundings were proclaimed by the UNESCO to be a World Heritage Site.
