Beckov Castle and Jewish Cemetery

The picturesque landscape of Central Považie is dominated by the Beckov limestone cliff. With its majestic height of sixty meters, it has impressed its inhabitants since ancient times.

Along the access road to the castle there is a Jewish cemetery with over 100 tombstones. The oldest tombstones date from 1739 – 1749. Most of the tombstones date from the mid-19th century. Inscriptions in Hebrew predominate over those in German. The cemetery has been listed as a Slovak cultural monument since 1991.
